Detroit, MI., based rock band Snapcat Bandits came to life in 2023 by Mike Krupinski (guitar, bass, vocals) and Melanie D. Marshall (drums). This project has the benefit of Mike and Melanie’s years of experience as songwriters and rock musicians, crafting edgy alternative, punk and power pop rock that is heavy on melody, attitude, and vibe.

Snapcat Bandits released their first six song Shadows & Looks EP as singles in 2023 and 2024.

Anything & Nothing is their new upcoming EP and it’s a huge production of rock anthems, thundering drums, crunchy guitars, and strong melodic vocals as well as charged with emotional energy.

The band went from nothing to something in less than a year with their Spotify monthly listeners and streams reaching 29,000 monthly listeners by April 2024, and over 300,000 streams in their first 8 months. Snapcat Bandits has also had radio airplay on Rock Rage Radio.

Snapcat Bandits have released a full documentary on YouTube Called, “Meet Snapcat Bandits at the Blind Pig on 3-6-2024”, and two lyric videos for, “Don’t Wanna Die” and “Lonely Highway”.

The band is currently working on additional lyrical videos, and new material to be released in 2025.

Formed amidst the gritty backdrop of Detroit, Michigan in 2023, Snapcat Bandits emerged onto the Rock scene with a distinctive fusion of raw energy and musical finesse. Melanie and Mike from Snapcat Bandits are two of the most awesome people I have ever had the pleasure to talk to, they are such down-to-earth people and they have similar cool music taste as me, so we just hit it off as friends and people. They have a new, emotionally charged single and video, “Lonely Highway”, out now. ‘“Lonely Highway”, is about being in a bad relationship or bad situation”, says Marshall. In the Led Zeppelin song, “Trampled Under Foot”, Robert Plant talks about likening a motor car to parts of a human body.

Both Mike and Melanie intentionally turned off all media, TV, news and internet news. They felt like they were moving away from the hostility and divisiveness of the current state of affairs in the outside world.
